This blog post from Marge Loch-Wouters has some marvelous ideas for making the summer visits from daycare centers, camps, and other organizations more manageable. And if your summer is turning out to be full of mayhem from visits like this, it isn’t too late to do some of the things she suggests (talking with the camp/care leaders and finding out when they might stop in and encouraging them to come at different times; making sure they understand the expectations of behavior, including that the staff be active with the children during their visit; and give a 2-minute orientation to the whole group to make sure everyone is on the same page for using the room successfully). Wow! Take a look for a rock in the storm if you are feeling battered about!
