Do you love helping people and connecting them with the resources they need? The L.E. Phillips Memorial Public Library is currently seeking two enthusiastic and detail-oriented Desk Clerks who have a passion for public service to work at the Library’s front desk.  As a Desk Clerk, you will assist customers by checking materials in and out, processing library card applications, and transferring library materials between customers and shelves and SO MUCH MORE. The L.E. Phillips Memorial Public Library is looking for candidates that will work independently with minimal direction, follow procedures, prioritize and multi-task, be a reliable team player with a strong commitment to customer service, and work in a fast-paced environment.  
Additionally, the ideal candidates would be reliable, courteous, and safety minded, as they’ll be responsible for driving the library’s minivan to retrieve library materials from the 10 book drop locations around Eau Claire and return them to the library. You will gain valuable knowledge and experience which will help you to decide if the library is where you want to continue your career. The L.E. Phillips Memorial Public Library is looking for candidates that will be friendly ambassadors to the library, have an excellent driving record, can work independently, and are able to work in a physical setting where frequent lifting is required.

We have 2 part-time non-exempt positions available, averaging 19 hours per week. The starting wage is $16.20 per hour and includes paid floating holiday. The proposed schedule includes primarily weekday hours and every other Saturday morning.
